A few cards over the weekend.....

Managed a quick trip up to Perth this weekend to catch up with a few friends on Saturday night and my brother, SIL and niece on Sunday morning for a quick breakfast before heading home. I timed it so that I would be able to attend the ANZAC service in Brookton to give my respects to all the service men and women that have fought and are fighting for our freedoms. Once home on Sunday the furbabies were in definite need of some running to get rid of some energy and the house was in desperate need of some dusting and sweeping - and it was so!

The weekend continued into Monday giving me an opportunity to hit my stash a little and with a few sketch challenges to get the creative juices running I put together a few cards. The first is for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #110.

The second is for the 2S4U Challenge #50.

The last one was made using one of my assignments for the inking class I am doing with Kim Teasdale.

Lesson 2 part 2

My 5th assignment in my sponged ink backgrounds class with Kim Teasdale was to create a night sky around a central image and I am really happy with the result - Kim's moodles are awesome!

Card Patterns Sketch #60

I've made 2 cards for the Card Patterns sketch challenge - one that follows the sketch cpompletely and the other that follows the sketch loosely - I love the soft colours of the little boy on the chatterbox paper but love the effect of patchworking the Doodlebug patterned paper.

Mojo Monday 134

While I was away this week, I was able to colour and cut out a few images as I packed my new stamps, my copics and and a few other supplies able to fit into a small box. It meant that while the rest of the world was sleeping I was able to feel my insomniac moments with some stamping and colouring and cutting out. Better late than never.....

After 4 days away I am just getting back into the swing of things.....firstly exciting news...Becky Fleck is coming to Perth and I have managed to get myself a seat in her full day workshop....YAY Thank goodness the workshop is on a weekend!!!

After a chat with Karen at Scrappin Outback yesterday I have converted one of the sketches I use for my cards into an Easter Layout of my two nieces on their Easter Egg hunt this year.

Not so sure about the flowers........they may disappear...lol

And they did...to be replaced with littler flowers...lol...and a few more blinged up butterflys...now I am happy with it...! The girls are carrying these baskets....

Class with Kim Teasdale

Oh what a lucky girl I am! I have just started an online class with Kim Teasdale over at My Creative Classrooom. This is the first class of theirs for me but if Kim's first lesson is anything to go by I will be signing up for more! The class Kim is running is on Sponged ink backgrounds and the first lesson was awesome - about building up ink layers to create the distressed look and using masks to create a glow or for layering images to save on paper - here are my first creations.....

Mojo Monday #133

Mojo Monday's sketch first threw me for a loop as I had a pre-coloured image that I have been trying to get the mojo to do something with. After a few adaptations another Mothers Day card was born - did have issues with the flocking! What do you use to make flocking stick and not go stodgy?????

Awesome photos of my nieces!

Well I have had a brilliant day today catching up with my family. My sisters belly is protruding now with my future niece or nephew and my two nieces were in fine form dancing for an appreciative audience, playing chasey with the tickle monsters ( my brother and brother in law) and searching with much delight for the eggs left by the Easter bunny. Managed to get some awesome photos which I cant wait to scrap!
