Friday night scrappin

The die hard girls had a UFO night down at scrappin outback tonight completing all those unfinished layouts that need a title or journalling- much laughter could be heard!

Between champagne and snacks lots of scrapping got done.

I'm still working on my USA/Canada photos and probably will be for quite a while.

Hyden Scrapbook Retreat LO's

What a brilliant weekend it was and I am already counting down till the next retreat in October - I worked on 5 double page LO's and a 12x12 and have just one to finish off - its desperately in need of a title which will happen before this holiday of mine is at an end - but i have to admit other than a forage through my supplies yesterday and adding some bling to a few cards I have been feet up reading of pottering around in the garden. This weekend the hoardes are descending from Perth - well 3 friends are coming...lol...havent had this many visitors since I left Mandurah 5 years ago!

Anyway...here are the LO's from the retreat - holiday snaps are all on Basic Grey - love the marakesh range and sad to see we can't get archaic anymore :o( Thanks heaps to the girls who ran the classes - they were awesome!

Erkle's LO is on paper I bought years ago and has been waiting for me to scrap my darling puppy

This year: 18 Birthday cards, 2 Mothers Day cards, 1 Fathers Day card, 2 Easter cards, 10 Thankyou cards, 1 Goodluck Card, 1 Valentine card, 3 new baby card, 6 Christmas Cards, 1 minibook, 2 credit card fridge magnets, 33 digital LOs, 1 A4 LO, 6 12x12 LOs and 6 double page layout.....

Thankyou cards

Well it has been a while since my last post - however, mojo for blogging has been limited by being away, pressure from the hybrid comp (which i have been voted out of *pout and sigh of relief*) and frequent out of town trips. The last month has involved camp with the Yr 5/6/7's from school, 3 seperate nights away in Narrogin plus 4 day trips, 3 weekends in Perth, 4 nights in Esperance and a night in Busselton - about 4300km's on the new car...arghhhh...somewhere in there I also fit in a full time job. However one weekend was filled with Scrapping at the retreat in Hyden and I am celebrating the official opening of a GREAT scrapbooking supplies shop in my town - no longer will I be a slave to the internet sites and impulse buy EVERYTHING when in Perth just in case i need it when I am 340 km away from the nearest scrapbook shop! Now I will leisurely browse and buy what I need and ask the darling Karen to order me in what I want......ahhhhh bliss! My credit card and savings accounts are going to be so happy!

This was the first card of the series and was created for the 2 sketches 4 you Sketch 24 challenge this week - I flipped the sketch and had a play!

Survivor Challenge 6 at Hybrid Designs

Well, just managed to get this challenge done for Hybrid Designs and uploaded at the 11th hour...literally....1 hour till over due, but I just haven't been home to do any scrapping - between school camp, choir performances in Perth, farewell to rellies and the caravan and camping show I have been home a total of 1 day since the challenge was issued last week. Last night was P&C meeting and getting prepared for architect and Minister visits to school today so last night was a complete write off. But I got stuck into it tonight and finished a double page LO - YAY - finally getting my USA/Canada holiday in 2007 scrapped. This album will be my focus for the retreat this weekend in Hyden too - Thanks Karen for organising the retreat!!!! Anyways here it is!

Challenge 5 at Hybrid Designs

Well another week at Scrapbook Survivor island and I made it through another challenge. Due to lack of waterproofing at the Hybrid Design huts, apparently all our embellishments and patterned paper were damaged so we had to make do with cardstock and those things that would survive a dose of water. The theme was family so I used a picture my sister gave me of the Grandparents with my niece Samantha - another LO for Samantha's album!

Cardstock: Natural corrugated card; Bazzil and Coredinations
Punches: EK Success flower; Stamping Up Label; Fiskar Scallop
Stamps: Stamping Up label

Embossing: Cuttlebug swirls and dots folders
Buttons: mixed
Printing: done on word with mixed fonts

Survivor Challenge 4 at Hybrid Designs

Well another week and another survivor challenge. This challenge had to include survivor in the title and at least 50 words of journalling - took me awhile to come up with ideas - it was either going to be skydiving or the river crossing. The river crossing won as I had a better photo. This was my second LO for the week as I got one done at the Hyden weekly crop - need to charge my camera before I can upload it...arghhhhh

My First Digital Scrapbook Pages

While surfing the blogging clouds recently I found a free download at Shabby Princess for a Carrie Stephens Elements kit - with the lime and turquoise papers I knew it was a kit I had to have, though I had never done digital LOs before. So this morning with an early rise, the zip folder for the kit was sitting staring at me on my desktop and I thought what the hey I'll give it a go....and so I scrapped my neices birthday lunch in January. Now I think I will be surfing the digital kit sites as I have 128 birthday photos from a birthday party to do....

Hybrid Designs Challenge 3

Well the Survivor Challenge over at Hybrid Designs is getting VERY interesting. Grand Pooh BAh's last challenge was an OTP using an altered household item. I'd decided to make the most of the recent credit card fraud I had been the victim of and use my obsolete plastic credit card (with a couple of used store vouchers) to make some fridge magnets for the grandmothers...I might save them up till mothers day....though most likely I'll give them to the mothers next time Isee them!
