This week at tiddlyinks there is a double challenge -firstly to use the gorgeous picture below as inspiration for your card but secondly to do a shaped card - not a regular square or rectangular card. Lysa from the DT has provided an awesome tutorial showing to easy ways to achieve a shaped card and i used the second method cutting two labels with my nesties, scoring one along the top edge and then gluing them to give the fold - it was super quick and super effective! I've used Christy's little Donna image and coloured her in greyscale to get the effect of the soft greys in the photo but I have removed her little wagon - wanted it to be all ablout that cute little Donna! Have fun with the challenge this week girls!

This week at Tiddly Inks we are celebrating St Patricks day in green. The card I have made is all Irish - 4 leaf clover, fae red head fairy and of course good luck! This is my first attempt at hand stitching on a card and the luck of the irish was with me and I think it came out pretty well. I pierced the design I wanted to stitch into the kraft card stock with a needle and then using silk thread straight stitched. Once I had straight stitched around the border and clover leaves I cut out the centre of each clover to let the patterned paper show through. The image of course is one of Christy's from Tiddly Inks - a fae fairy. Check out the rest of the design teams cards here.

Christy over at Tiddly Inks has just released new, totally gorgeous gothic images and from the moment I saw Miss Briar I wanted to colour her. I decided to keep the whole card a little grungy and used the Tiddly Inks Challenge this week which is to use kraft card stock. I've printed the image directly onto the kraft card and used a little technique I found here to cut her out with my nestie label - the rest is copic colouring, some PP layering, inking and sewing. Check out the design team cards using the new images here!

I've been experimenting a little with hand stitching this week and I am loving the texture it lends to the card. I've had a play with several shapes - 4 leaf clover, circles and I had in my mind a bright pink heart showing through a green cutout.
For this card I've used the colours from CR84FN and the sketch over at The Sweetest Thing - I love Karen's little scooter card. I printed out a heart shape and then pierced through the heart and the patterned paper underneath as well as around the outside of the circle I had cut with my circle nesties - I tried to keep the holes about 2mm apart but lets face it when they are not even you know its handcrafted....lol...I then use 3 strands of embroidery thread to straight stitch the heart and the circle border. I cut out the inner heart using a blade and then pierced and stitched the heart to make the added accent - added some cratepaper PP and a bit of bling and there it is.... Recipe Cardstock: Coredinations and Bazzil Paper: Cratepaper - {Paperdoll Collection} Sentiment: Kaisercraft Rubons Copics: no copics....*shudder - i feel the withdrawal coming on....* Bling: Prima Say it with Crystals

This week the challenge over at Tiddly Inks is rainbows - to use as many colours as possible - I took the rainbow theme seriously and used all the colours of the rainbow bursting from the red in the top left hand corner. The card was inspired by a technique I saw on Kinsey Wilsons blog here for a LO she did for Cratepaper at CHA this season - I loved the technique and HAD to try it and I like the effect with the bold primary colours.
